Our team brings a wealth of experience across many business disciplines, including corporate governance, public accounting, and information technology.
Jerry Hutter, Chief Executive Officer of CFO Strategies, is responsible for the overall strategic management of the firm. Jerry has over forty years of experience as an auditor, controller, and management consultant for firms ranging from Fortune 500 companies to smaller private sector corporations and not-for-profit organizations. Jerry previously held positions on the corporate staff at KB Homes, and was formerly the corporate controller of Washington Mutual (Home Savings) and the business manager of the San Diego Opera. He was most recently a senior manager with CBIZ/Nation Smith Hermes Diamond, where he was responsible for client implementations of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance requirements and the development of Section 302 monitoring programs. Jerry is a former certified public accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers, where he was certified with both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University at Long Beach, with special studies at the University of California at Los Angeles and San Diego State University.
Michael Fry, President of CFO Strategies, is responsible for overall company operations. He brings extensive financial and operational experience in high-growth business environments to our team, including executive assignments in software development, telecommunications infrastructure, and management consulting. Michael was most recently a project manager with CBIZ/Nation Smith Hermes Diamond, assisting clients with Sarbanes-Oxley compliance implementation and monitoring. He was formerly CFO of Front Porch, a developer of content management and customer service software for global telecommunications carriers, and COO of International Business Simulations, Inc., a developer of management training software for Fortune 1000 firms. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a Master of Arts in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California at San Diego. He has also completed executive training in financial management from Stanford Business School. Michael is an active member of both the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) and the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Matt Stamper, Vice President of Development for CFO Strategies, leads the company's technology development. As a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Matt brings a depth of understanding of IT best practices, technologies, and compliance requirements to our product development efforts. Prior to joining CFO Strategies, Matt worked in the managed services industry helping firms design highly available and highly resilient application architectures. Matt previously was a District Manager with VeriCenter; the Western Region Solutions Manager for AT&T (Enterprise Hosting Division); Vice President of Business Development for Front Porch, Inc.; and an International Support Executive for AT&T Global Services Division. Matt received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of California at San Diego, where he graduated with Honors and Distinction. Matt’s graduate studies include a Master of Arts in Pacific International Affairs from the University of California at San Diego and a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications sponsored by AT&T.
